I came across a short piece written by my good friend Kate Cutts. I hope you will read it. It made me think back to a line from the musical Wicked and the song, For Good.

There are moments in my life when someone noticed something good in me. It might be an act of kindness, or something I had written or said. It’s often something that I thought to be pretty mundane, but it still had an impact on someone. Those are the moments that keep me writing, keep me walking and talking and living, and sometimes, those are the only things in my life that provide the motivation to get out of bed. If you see someone doing something good, tell them about it. It keeps the world spinning at a healthy rate. Look for the good in someone. It will make their day and perhaps yours also!
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better? But
Because I knew you
I have been changed for good

One response to “Keep at it for Good”
I have at 55+ yo decided to stop calling myself “dunce” or “dummy” when I make a mistake but to just realize I am a deeply flawed person and that’s humanity. I’m part of the fallen messed up world and that helps me not expect unreasonable levels of performance from myself or others but to have grace for both myself and others while enjoying the good people do that’s different from me and enjoying my own contributions. I like the thought, “don’t worry about whether you are good at it, just keep doing it for good.” Thanks for sharing Kate’s blog.
